Connect Groups

Small groups

We live in a culture where more is better. Or, bigger is better. For example, we need more information, more restaurants, bigger profit margins, and better productivity. The list is endless.

This reality has impacted the Church. We see some of the largest churches in the history of the Christian Church in the 21st Century. It is exciting to see crowds encounter Jesus and have their lives change but the “bigger the better” mentality needs balancing.

Jesus consistently withdrew from the crowds to focus upon the twelve. His plan for changing the world with the Love of God was based on a dozen guys! Talk about taking a chance! He saw that discipleship happened on a small basis. Jesus led and taught the twelve for a few years and with the power of the resurrection they changed the world.

Jesus’ pattern is essential for the Christian in the 21st Century to truly connect and grow as a disciple. Life change can occur in large crowds but it best happens when a dozen or so people gather and study God’s Word. When life and God’s Word collide, lives change.

At Madison Park Christian Church we want you to grow as a follower of Jesus and getting in a small group is one of the best places for that to happen.
